The greatest joy for me in being a communication and speech coach is the diverse mixture of clients who seek my services. Each time I’m hired, I consider it a privilege and my client’s needs become my top priority. My mission is ensuring that they achieve their goals and become more confident communicators.
Looking back at my practice as it’s evolved since 1994, one of the patterns that’s emerged is the client who keeps coming back. Any entrepreneur welcomes repeat business but it’s much more than that; it comes down to the client relationship. In my experience, as my clients move on after working with me, they call to say they’ve relocated, been promoted, changed careers or are embarking on yet another new challenge.
As clients reconnect to share their news, a common theme prevails; they often say they’ve kept their “Dale file” to which they frequently refer. Then they tell me that they consistently find themselves pondering…What would Dale do? This means that they find it valuable to reflect on the coaching I’ve provided and use it as a guide for new situations that they encounter.
When I learned about this phenomenon I was deeply flattered but also realized that I’m doing exactly what I set out to do—giving clients the tools to further their success and establish their autonomy. This insight became the catalyst for this blog, so now I invite you to explore and learn from the content on this site so you too can benefit from pondering…What would Dale do?
I can’t wait to hear from you!
